VENTURA / Foreman is a South East London design and manufacturing studio founded, owned and run by husband and wife partnership Robert Ventura Gibson and Sophie Foreman.

Having both studied at London College of Fashion, Rob and Sophie spent several years working as clothing and accessory designers in the fashion industry, before founding VENTURA / Foreman in 2018.

Driven by a desire to be more connected to the product and the manufacturing process, they started designing and making garments out of a self and purpose-built studio in their back garden.

In today’s industry, design and manufacturing are typically detached. A product may be designed in-house by a fashion brand, but it will be physically constructed by a third party, often hundreds of miles away from its source. Sophie and Rob set out to reject the standard model, and instead own as much of the entire process as possible. This close connection to the process is the ethos of VENTURA / Foreman.

Things began to gather momentum, and in 2022 increased demand meant that the back garden studio made way for a new, industrial studio overlooking the River Thames in Woolwich. Every VENTURA / Foreman garment is designed and manufactured here, in this South East London space.

In an industry saturated by too many products, marketing campaigns and over-complicated supply chains, VENTURA / Foreman searches for simplicity in every sense. Through reductive design, we strip our products back to their most basic elements, creating authentic, clean and contemporary workwear that’s a genuine representation of a holistic industrial process. It’s an approach which looks to celebrate craft, transparency and local manufacturing.

With minimalist silhouettes and versatile fabrics that work in any setting - whether it’s social, commercial or industrial - our universal workwear garments are intended to be worn by anyone, day in and day out. Everything is built to last and made to order - we hold no excess stock and have a zero-waste philosophy.
